I received an invitation it seemed, 'out of the blue' to visit a local business in the Appliance Industry - and is it happens from time to time, we are met with exactly what we need exactly when we need it. As an Interior Design Consultant thoroughly disappointed by a recent purchase experience of appliances from a large retailer in the industry, I was left disillusioned by the quality of products and service available to the average consumer and wondered if Qualitative Assurance had died under the sword of Quantitative Insurance. Then like a super hero descending from the sky Caplans appeared. The timing of the email I received from Mike was as the ancient Greeks say - #Kaironic . A family-owned local business with a new Brand Champion on board by the name of Mike Albanese who wanted to do only one thing: share quality time with me to introduce me to a unique business that indeed was Not Your Average Appliance Showroom. I think what I loved best about my Lunch N' Learn experience at Caplans, aside from the incredible hospitality and gourmet meal I enjoyed, the impeccable interior design and outstanding attention to detail in the quality of customer service, is that it reminded me not to judge a book by its cover and, reinforced a value that I hold dearly: it's not what Mike, and Sharon and Chef Deborah and Chef Renato and Rob Caplan did for me that made a difference, it's how they made me feel. Nearly two decades ago we bought all our appliances from Caplans during a kitchen makeover. Since then we replaced a dishwasher or a dryer on one offs, chasing an online sale price. Following the death of our 18-YO KitchenAid fridge we had a horrendous consumer experience when our two-month-old Bosch turned into a lemon. We said, "let's go back to Caplans". Our experience was nothing short of exceptional. From Sharon Das promptly returning an email after we booked an appointment online, to her greeting and hand-off to Grant Armstrong, we were impressed by how Caplans puts PEOPLE back into the consumer experience. Grant listened to our family’s needs and patiently navigated us to a well-priced KitchenAid fridge. His knowledgeable advice and warm, engaging manner helped us feel confident in our selection - and knowing he’s someone we can call if there’s an issue, well that kind of seals the deal. Sharon saw us off at the door with a memento and a handshake and ensured we visited a local coffee shop they’ve teamed with to offer customer complimentary coffee and treats. It’s the little things that show a company cares. Proud family run businesses are like that. We immediately realized why we'll never go anywhere else for our appliance needs, and we’ll be sure to send many friends and family their way. Bonus...the new fridge will arrive less than 48 hours later. Brilliant. Our son is hungry.

I wanted to replace my side-by-side refrigerator with a French door style. There was only millimeters of space above my present refrigerator. The width was the same and the manufacture was the same. Shaun was my sales representative and together at Caplan's and at home he helped me compare the dimensions of the 2. We spoke many times before I made the purchase. He was helpful and did not pressure me. I was also not pressured to have the refrigerator delivered immediately. I chose a date at my convenience which was probably 1 month later. I then asked to change the date by one week earlier and I was accommodated immediately. I was contacted by phone and then email and texted of the approximate times for delivery and then called that the team would be there in 20 minutes. Great communication and follow up. They carefully brought in the frig wheeling it alone runners. They slid in the new frig.... and it did NOT fit on the right side but it did fit on the left. The above right cupboard had shifted down and there was no space to slide it in. There was also another issue - a 1 inch plastic cover on the upper corners that was in the way. I suggested to remove the cupboard door and the frig slipped in most of the way except the plactic cover prevented full insertion. One person from the delivery team said that the plastic cover could be removed. That is what he did and the refrigerator went fully into place. Everything was taken care of and the temperatures set. They removed my side by side and placed it in the garage. Shaun followed up with me later in the day to see how the delivery went and the success of fitting it into the tight space. The whole experience went extremely well and I am so thrilled to have a much larger refrigerator capacity with full width shelves and 2 extra pull out shallow drawers in the model that I bought.

I run my own business, and during a heat pump installation, one of my team members accidentally scratched the dryer, which really upset our customer. I tried calling several places to replace it, but since it’s a low-demand item, everyone told me it would take at least 10 days to deliver—meanwhile, the customer kept yelling at us. I stopped by this branch and met a gentleman named Kiet Tran. Although the dryer wasn’t in stock, I explained the situation to him just like I had with others, who didn’t seem to care. But Kiet was different—he didn’t let it go. He jumped on his laptop and phone, tracked one down somewhere in the GTA, and gave me a place to pick it up so I wouldn’t lose credibility with my customer. Huge thanks to him! I would highly recommend Caplan's to anyone. Recently purchased a stackable washer and dryer from them and the whole process was simple and efficient. Andrei made things seamless and the installation team was in and out (including removal of our old machines) within 30 minutes. A way better option than all the big-box American stores!

We had the good fortune of ordering our appliances from Shaun at Caplan's. In our initial encounter he spent a lot of time with us to help us choose the appliances that would best suit our needs. Due to a few unforeseen events we had to delay delivery several times. Each time we did this Shaun was extremely helpful. As well the Caplan's delivery team is right on the ball. They made the experience very easy and we felt totally secure. And while we have not yet had delivery of the bulk of the appliances we feel that there will be no issues. We have been very pleased with Caplans and look forward to using our new appliances when our house is ready.

Who knew you could have an enjoyable experience shopping for appliances? We just went to a “lunch and learn” in the Miele gallery and we had such a great time. The chef prepared a wonderful meal and talked us through everything along the way. Our appliance rep, Shaun, was friendly, informative, and no pressure. Overall, a great afternoon.

I recently purchassed a Miele dishwasher at Caplan's (Oct 2025). Carman was amazing and answered my questions with patience and respect. He was on the ball when I emailed to say that Miele hadn't yet contacted me about installation. Everything was resolved quickly and without any hassle. This is my second experience with Caplan's - I purchased an induction stove from them a few years ago and was also a FIVE STAR experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
